Score 87/100 · Drink 2003-2012, Robert Parker, Feb 1993
The 1989 is an impressive wine with a thick black/ruby color. The nose is closed, but on the palate, the wine is an overwhelmingly muscular, hard, tough-textured, tannic behemoth that needs at least 7- 10 years of cellaring. The muscular, backward style is typical of Cadet-Piola. Anticipated maturity: 1996-2010.
