D’Issan’s second wine, the 2011 Blason d’Issan possesses dusty, earthy notes along with medium body, pleasant fruit and a simple, one-dimensional personality. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.

40% Merlot, 60% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep cherry crimson. Fresh, graphite with pure dark fruit. Lots of lead pencil on the palate and not at all leafy. Lovely purity and very silky, elegant tannins. Aromatic. Cool and fresh and elegant. Lightish but still has lovely scented length. (JH)

Blending 60% Cabernet Sauvignon & 40% Merlot, the wine opens with smoke, truffle and black cherry, offering a cassis, black cherry finish. This will drink well young. TheWineCellarInsider.com
