Score 91/100 · David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate, Dec 2009

The Christoffel 2009 Urziger Wurzgarten Riesling Spatlese trocken is scented with clover and apple blossom as well as by the kiwi and honeydew melon that dominate on its juicy, polished palate. This finishes unemphatically but satisfyingly, incorporating a kiss of wet stone. If not distinguished, it is at the least delicious. It would I suspect have been finer had it been possible with less than 12.5% alcohol and correspondingly greater delicacy. I had to forego Hans-Leo Christoffel’s droll wit this year and (no offense meant to him by this remark of course!) taste with proprietor Robert Eymael.
