Tasting notes
Based on its performance from cask, I had hoped this 1995 would be slightly better. Nevertheless, it has turned out to be a good claret, made in a lighter style. The medium ruby color is followed by straightforward, soft, berry, and black currant-scented aromatics. In the mouth, the wine reveals an attractive, spicy, fleshy feel, not much weight or depth, but a superficial charm and fruitiness. This wine can be drunk young, and should last for 10-12 years. Anticipated maturity: 2000-2009.

Delicate aromas of sweet berries and flowers follow through to a medium body, with fine tannins and a fresh, currant aftertaste. Subtle and refined.--'95/'96 Bordeaux retrospective. Best after 2006. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2007.
