Score 87-90/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2008
Good bright, deep red. Ripe aromas of chocolate, mocha and menthol. Sweet and sappy, with a lovely concentrated core of flavor. A slightly saline, vibrant wine that uncoils with air. Not a fruit bomb but nicely long on the aftertaste. Potel included some purchased wine in this cuvee Should make an excellent village bottling. (Potel's Chambolle villages, which I rated 85-88, showed plenty of ripeness and a creamy middle but finished a bit dry.)

Dark fruit hiding at first , then a bright splash of juicy fruit on the mid palate before it settles back a retrained dark-fruit length. Tannins very smooth but present. (JH)
