Score 90/100 · Drink 2019-2035, Neal Martin, Mar 2019

The 2009 Boyd-Cantenac is rather sultry on the nose, well defined, classic in style and certainly one of the more elegant Left Banks. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, slightly lower in acidity than its peers, rounded in texture with quite plush, velvety smooth plummy fruit on the finish. Maybe not long-term but this is well crafted. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 2009 Bordeaux tasting.

Tasted blind. Burnished rhubarb on the nose. Rich start and the taste of crushed digestive biscuits. Pretty chewy end. (JR)

Some toasty oak. Some juice and fluidity. A fruity middle to this wine even if it's not the most complex. (JR)
