Tasting notes
(bottled at the end of July, 2010): Very deep red. Black cherry, licorice and a hint of peppermint on the nose, lifted by a violet topnote. Juicy acidity gives a penetrating quality to the flavors of dark fruits, spices, mint and pepper. Tightens up on the back end, but the tannins are sweet.

Dark crimson. Rather sickly nose – New World red rather than red burgundy? Mouth filling and then fairly tough tannins and a hint of cough medicine. Lots there! Very positive. Just not very fine. Hot on the finish. (JR)
Bright red. Sexy aromas and flavors of raspberry and spices complicated by strong pepper and herb nuances. Dense, sweet and sappy, with a strong acid/tannin spine giving the long finish excellent grip. Quite backward today.
Savoury, smoky dark fruit. Deep dark fruit and spice on the palate but the tannins are so smooth even though they make a good frame for the fruit. Fine, spiced finish and very subtle even in that savoury character. (JH)
