The 2010 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru does not fully deliver the same delineation as the Méo-Camuzet tasted alongside. Yet, there is a beguiling purity here with raspberry, red cherry and crushed stone that turns into more bergamot and rosehip with time. The palate is medium-bodied, poised and structured, less open than expected, tightening up towards the finish. Give this another couple of years. Tasted at the Clos Vougeot tasting at Château de la Tour.

The 2010 Clos de Vougeot bursts onto the palate with unbridled energy and class. Sweet floral and spiced notes develop in the glass, adding depth and complexity, but the 2010 remains a wine defined by its textural brilliance and verve. An understated, polished finish rounds things out in style.

Joseph Drouhin is one of the largest and most famous producers in Burgundy, making both domaine and négociant wines. It remains family-owned and run, now in the hands of the fourth generation.
