2008 Clos St Martin

Relatively pale. Some interesting terroir taste on the nose. Different from the rest – less forced, more natural. Juicy and appetising, as though it had been more exposed to oxygen. More relaxed. Even if quite forward. (JR)

A stronger effort than its 2010 sibling, the 2008's pure, chalky/limestone character gives it an unmistakable liqueur of mineral-like quality intermixed with deep raspberry and black cherry fruit, medium to full body and superb ripeness, depth and purity. This beautiful wine should be consumed over the next 15 years.

Surprisingly pale crimson. Rather monotone on the nose – not that much concentration or ambition. Some sinew and chew but not much interesting flesh. (JR)
