Tasting notes
This is drinking beautifully now with plenty of dark berries and hints of chocolate in a medium-bodied, round and savory package.

The 2000 vintage was very hot. Luca Sanjust compares it to other scorching seasons such as 2003 and 2011. The 2000 Galatrona opens to an impenetrable and inky black appearance. What the wine offers in terms of power, it lacks in depth. This is beautifully aged Merlot to be sure, but it walks with a heavy gait and brisk movements. The nose shows ripe fruit with plum, blackberry confit, spice and crushed river stone. The mouthfeel is determined and penetrating with thick lines and broad appeal.
