Score 84/100 · Drink 2018-2020, Neal Martin, Feb 2019

The 1983 Clos de Tart Grand Cru has a light, rustic and rather unappealing nose with an unwelcome adhesive scent. Thin on the entry, it only gradually builds, remaining dry and austere, although it improves toward a finish that just feels a little tough. It is not a great Clos de Tart, but (to damn it with faint praise) I have encountered worse 1983s in my time, and there are no signs of any rot here. Tasted at the Clos de Tart vertical at Ten Trinity in London.
