Tasting notes
Sandrone's artistry is apparent in his pure, elegant, dark ruby/purple-colored 1999 Dolcetto d'Alba. Although tightly-knit, measured, and stylish, there is no doubting its ripe, floral, airy fruit and subtle spice. Drink it over the next 2-3 years. Deep ruby-red. High-toned aromas of blackberry and bitter chocolate. Rich, chewy and deep, but currently showing more texture and sweetness than clarity and complexity. Finishes with slightly drying tannins. Give this one six months before pulling the cork.
