Medium red. Very ripe, slightly reduced aromas of redcurrant, mocha, tobacco and nutty oak. Fatter and fuller than the Damodes, with a lovely silky texture for the year and very good breadth. Not at all overly sweet, though. Finishes with sweet tannins.

There are 250 cases of the magnificent 2002 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Pruliers. Its beguiling, mocha-laced aromatics reveal intensely sweet black cherries and blackberries. Armed with magnificent concentration, this perfectly seamless wine has exceptional balance, power, and grace. Crammed with candied red, blue, and black fruits, it has tannin that is so ripe that it is almost impossible to discern. This stupendous Nuits-St.-Georges should be drunk between 2006 and 2018. Deep red. Reduced aromas of redcurrant, smoked meat, animal fur and nutty oak. On the palate, unusually showy for this typically austere wine, as the malolactic fermentation finished early. Then fat, sweet, rich and supple, with impressive texture and a sweetly oaky, very persistent finish.
