Score 87-88/100 · Drink 2003-2007, Pierre Rovani, Apr 2003

The estate's production of the ruby-colored 2001 Beaune-Greves was cut by 30% because of the August 2nd storm. Bing cherry-scented, this light-bodied wine reveals a satin-textured core of sweet berries. A delicious offering of lovely detail, its spicy, soft fruit-driven personality and supple finish are guaranteed to put a smile on consumers' faces. It should be drunk over the next 3-4 years. A Becky Wasserman Selection / Le Serbet; French Fax: 011-33-3-80-24-29-70, various American importers.

Moderately saturated medium red. Blueberry, mint and a whiff of leather on the nose. Sweet and supple, with berry and herbal flavors. Shows nice lift on the back end, but the light tannins betray a slight dryness.
