Tasting notes
The problem of musty aromas exhibited in many older Camensac wines appears to have been eliminated in the 1995 and 1996 vintages. The softer 1995 is less concentrated than the 1996, but elegant, clean, and satisfying.

Best Camensac ever. Rich aromas of blackberries and chocolate. Full-bodied, with sweet, ripe fruit flavors, loads of velvety tannins and a long finish. An absolutely delicious wine for now, for later. Drink now through 2010. – James Suckling, Wine Spectator 1998

About the producer

A stone’s throw from Saint-Julien, Ch. de Camensac was long underperforming, but – under the ownership of the Merlaut-Villars family – was totally restructured, and quality transformed.
