Tasting notes
Tight at first, then loosening with a mineral, smoke and butter character. Great stately structure – foursquare and firm. Impeccable condition with a very concentrated core. (RH)

(bottled one month ago) Subtly complex nose combines peach, apple, pear, minerals, hazelnut and smoke. Explosively fruity in the mouth, with firm acidity and brisk citrus flavors giving the mid-palate terrific focus and lift. As rich as this is, it conveys a lovely light touch. Finishes firmly structured, vibrant and very long. A very good year for this style.
There is a truly thrilling undertow to this wine which has real race and life with the extra savour of something reminiscent of vegetation. Real energy here. Racy and athletic. .’Bog omn the bottom’, I seem to have written but I’m sure that’s not an anatomical observation. Extremely long. Great stuff. £675(6) ib C&B (JR)
