Tasting notes
Loads of sweet coffee aromas on the nose. Liqueur raspberry and strawberry on the palate and rich, perfumed length. Combines tertiary mocha characters with primary fruit very effectively. (RH)

96g/l RS, 5g/l TA. Odd vegetal nose here, with a compost and earthy tone that is a little bit unusual and gives a slightly rotten tang to the fruit. (RH)
Impressively dark purplish crimson. Big, rich and brutal. Hint of foxgloves. Again, greenness on the palate – a creditable attempt to counterbalance this with sweetness and there is some, faintly metallic, tannin. Not a happy whole at the moment but perhaps it will develop some harmony. (JR)
The 1994 Croft exhibits an impressive dark ruby/purple color, and a developed, forward, more evolved style than expected. It is moderately sweet, full-bodied, expansive, pure, and rich, but made in an up-front, flattering style. Although outstanding, it is not one of the superstars of the vintage. It will keep for twenty years. Anticipated maturity: 2000-2020. Importer: Palace Brands, Hartford, CT; tel. (800) 729-3372
