Tasted from magnum, the 2003 Haut-Carles reveals a color similar to Fontenil’s, but slightly less broad flavors. It is an impressive testament to this beautiful appellation that deserves more attention. Fresh, lively and medium to full-bodied, it offers notes of tobacco leaf, minerals, coffee, blackcurrants, and dark raspberries as well as blueberries. Drink it over the next decade or more.
