The 2010 Coddington Chardonnay is 15 years from its harvest, and the wine looks sensational for it. Bottle age has contributed spice complexity and depth of flavor, but it has done nothing to diminish the sapidity and penetration of fruit concentration. This is an excellent wine. I love the acid through the finish; it beckons.

A little muted on the nose. Sweet start and then refined acidity and texture. Great stuff! Maybe not that much complexity acquired during the long bottle-ageing process but it’s still looking good. Just a little messy on the end. (JR)
From a frost-affected vintage with half the normal volume, the 2010 Chardonnay Coddington is rather firm and chunky. While there's sweet fruit, there's also plenty of acidity. Smoky and clove notes join the nectarine fruit on the scented, albeit somewhat drying, finish.
The 2010 Coddington Chardonnay has a rich, concentrated bouquet, dried honey, white flowers, peach skin and light mandarin scents all vying for attention. The crisp, focused palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity and a harmonious, mineral-driven finish that shows very good persistence. Probably at its peak now, but it will last.
