(the Humberts' vines are in the northern section of Mazoyeres) Deep ruby-red. Aromas of black cherry, licorice and game. Supple, sweet and broad but with less detail than the more minerally Poissenot and Estournelles. Still fairly closed but I don't find outstanding intensity or depth here. Finishes with slightly dusty tannins and a hint of chocolate. Could use a bit more grip and eclat.

Dense crimson. Liqueur-like – very sweet and seductive. Round and easy. Concentrated. Lots of stuffing here. Not perhaps charming but certainly grand-cru quality. (JR)
