Tasting notes
The top five Pomerols from J.P Mouiex (Certan d May, Providence, Hosanna, La Fleur Petrus and Trotanoy) are absolutely terrific in 2011. Certan de May has a brilliant Richebourg-esque nose of rich liqueur fruit and spice. This continues on the wonderful, silky palate which has big but ripe tannins. Just lovely.

The 2011 Certan-de-May has a well-defined and fresh bouquet, quintessentially Pomerol with a touch of black truffle. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, well-judged acidity, good backbone with black pepper and cedar towards the slightly dry but still appealing finish. Fine. Tasted blind at the annual 10-Year-On tasting.
Tasted blind. Round and quite rich with a little structure and light tannins. Nice balance. (JR)
