Screwcap. Pale greenish gold. The slightest hint of decay on the nose but in a rather attractive way. Sleek and polished with impressive layers of lime and very obviously Sauvignon Blanc – with age. (JR)

Quite fleshy and toasty – definitely non classic! And the oak is a bit of a sore thumb. Rather awkwardly put together. Can't see this ageing especially harmoniously. Very drying tannins on the finish. (JR)
This lovely, deep ruby/plum-colored 2004 displays fresh, lively notes of lead pencil shavings, sweet and sour cherries, dried herbs, and cedar. Ripe and tasty with good fruit, medium body, and soft tannin, it can be enjoyed over the next decade.
About the producer
Wine has been made at this estate since the 1300s, but its modern history begins when the Lurton family purchased it in 1965. The property was in disrepair, but the Lurtons have restored the château, winery and vineyards.
