La Louviere's dark ruby/purple-colored, ripe 1996 exhibits an excellent combination of sweet black currant fruit meshed with notes of Provencal olives, licorice, smoke, and toasty new oak. With medium to full body, excellent sweetness, and a layered, concentrated finish, this wine should be at its finest between 2003-2015.

About the producer
Wine has been made at this estate since the 1300s, but its modern history begins when the Lurton family purchased it in 1965. The property was in disrepair, but the Lurtons have restored the château, winery and vineyards.
