Tasting notes
Mineral nuances as well as complexity are found in the 2004 Condrieu Clos Boucher. This brilliant grand cru-like Condrieu boasts full body, a superb minerality, and a floral, exotic fruit-filled style. Both wines need to be consumed over the next 2-3 years. (from a vineyard adjacent to Chateau Grillet) Light gold. Intensely perfumed, pungent nose features strong floral and honey notes underpinned by spicy herbs. "The terroir is stronger than the viognier, which is incredible if you think about it, since viognier is such an expressive variety," commented Grange. Rich and weighty, slowly giving up some dense peach and pear notes but quite wound up and in need of four or five years in the cellar to reveal itself.
