76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Cabernet Franc. Deep ruby with a hint of purple. Dried and fresh black cherries and black plums with a touch of iodine savouriness. Sweet and rich with a viscous mouthfeel, round tannin and oak spice but a lift of freshness that brightens it up on the finish. Lengthy. Checks all the boxes for bold Napa Cab. (SCJ)

The 2019 No. 95, from the estate’s younger vines, is terrific. It offers notable freshness to play off a core of bright red/purplish berry fruit. Crushed raspberry, mocha, mint and cinnamon open nicely in the glass, but it is the wine’s vibrancy that impresses most. This is a terrific introduction to the year. This is impressive.
