Tasting notes
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras is redolent of black cherries, wild blueberries, plum preserves and cassis, plus suggestions of crushed rocks and black olives. Full-bodied, ripe and wonderfully expressive it the mouth, the generous black and blue fruits are well-supported by firm, ripe, fine-grained tannins, finishing with fantastic length and purity.

This is a fascinating Piedras with crushed stone, walnut and chocolate highlighting the blue fruit. Full bodied, linear and long. Shows focus and poise.
The finest wine made to date from this personal label of Benoit Touquette, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras is a borderline perfect effort that has awesome notes of creme de cassis, toasted spices, graphite, lavender, and dried tobacco. Possessing beautiful gravelly minerality, full body, a layered, multi-dimensional texture, and a big finish, it's a thrill a minute, evolving and offering new layers every time I came back to the glass. It has the purity and balance of the vintage front and center and will keep for 20-30 years.
