Tasting notes
There are four barrels of the 2021 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, a medium to full-bodied, attractively deep and layered wine redolent of orange zest, plums, red berries, peonies and spices. Built around powdery tannins and concluding with a saline finish, it will merit a little patience, but it's the most youthfully approachable rendition of this cuvée that Clerget has produced to date.

The 2021 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru escaped frost damage and therefore comprises four barrels and one "Wine Globe". It has a fairly intense bouquet with red berries, blood oranges and a touch of iodine. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy blackberry and raspberry fruit, orange rind and baking powder. There's a fine grip with commendable structure on the finish.
