53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc. First vintage with Petit Verdot in the grand vin. Harvested 29 September to 20 October. Garnet with a lighter rim. Subtle red- and dark-fruit notes with cherry to the fore. Focus on the fruit on attack and through the mid palate. Grippy tannins on the finish but harmonious. Probably GV if you can find it. (JL)

Very pale straw. Heady lightly botrytised nose. Very pure and fresh. A great line to this wine. Very limpid and lively. Lots of green on the finish. Firm and long. Tight and tense. (JR)
Rich and layered and just a bit 'assembled'. Still quite dry. Nothing to object to but made rather than grown? [An unusual impression for Domaine de Chevalier traditionally.] (JR)

Since buying the property in 1983, the Bernard family has cemented Domaine de Chevalier’s reputation as one of the Graves’s finest red and white wine producers, known for their sophisticated and elegant wines.
