Tasting notes
A tighter style with fresh juicy fruit and a fine, firm tannic scaffold. Really nice and bright at the end. FINE+RARE

The 2011 Gazin has a lovely, open and generous bouquet with red berry fruit, pencil shavings, smoke and autumn bonfire. Yes, something very October-ish about the aromatics! The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, a little chewy, not quite as pliant or as complex as the '11 Trotanoy, though there is admirable substance on the finish. Give this another year in bottle. Tasted blind at the annual 10-Year-On tasting.
Tasted blind. Blackish crimson – looks very young! Sweet biscuits on the nose. Gunmetal and fruit – interesting! Some quite dry tannins. Shame about those tannins because there is lots else to like. (JR)
