Pale-medium ruby. Marked clove, cordite and caramel oak, with drying red-cherry and wild-strawberry fruit. Some kriek -like sour cherry on the palate, with oxidative cedar-clove oak. Some rusticity to the fairly firm tannins. Fair length. (TJ)

Mid cherry. Smells riper than the Savigny, darker fruited, lightly spiced. Firm, fully ripe tannins but still firmly structured and savoury, a little chewy on the finish. Lots of integrity and no attempt to flatter and all the better for that. (JH)
