Tasting notes
Coming from an east-facing hillside in Oakville not far from Harlan Estate, the 2022 Vecina offers red and black fruits, iron, smoked tobacco, and graphite that all develop beautifully with time in the glass. It's medium to full-bodied and has a layered, elegant mouthfeel, plenty of mid-palate depth, and ripe tannins. I love it today, yet it's going to evolve gracefully for 15 years as well. It's unquestionably another impressive 2022 from this team. Drink 2025-2040.

The 2022 Vecina is so expressive right out of the gate. Soaring aromatics and gorgeous mid-palate depth give the 2022 a level of immediacy that is seldom present in young wines from this site. Black cherry, lavender, violet, sage and rosemary undertones extend the polished finish. This is a stylish Cabernet that marries power and finesse in grand style.
Deep ruby with a hint of purple. Intensely mineral and rocky with violet floral notes. A bit more macerated black fruit on this than the rest of the BOND line-up. Compact dense tannin with grip and tackiness – you can feel the oak in the tannin support if not in flavour. Just a titch less flavour on the finish than the St Eden. Incredible balance and freshness. (SCJ)
The 2022 Vecina is regal, elegant and polished. Graphite, menthol, licorice, plum and blood orange all race out of the glass. Readers will find a wine of energy, delineation and class. Vecina is yet another highlight in what looks like a superb vintage for BOND.
