Tasting notes
In total contrast to the 2001, the evolved, medium-bodied, dark ruby-colored 2000 Cotes du Rhone Coudoulet reveals notes of chocolate, truffles, sweet cherries, garrigue, pepper, and spice. The acidity is crisp, and the wine is already drinkable. It should age nicely for 10-12 years. Importer: Vineyard Brands, Birmingham, AL; tel. (205) 980-8802

Good medium ruby. Aromas of black fruits and roasted tomato. Smooth and dense but fresh, with sound acidity giving the fruit a crunchy quality. Finishes with fine tannins. Offers strong potential for this bottling.
About the producer

This Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate is one of the Rhône’s most famous addresses. With a history stretching back to the 16th century, Beaucastel remains family owned and run, with the fifth generation of the Perrin family – Marc, Pierre, Thomas, Cécile, Charles, Matthieu and César – at the helm today.
