Score 95/100 · Drink 2019-2034, Jeb Dunnuck, Jan 2019
The 2016 Alessio Proprietary Red is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Merlot that was brought up all in new oak. It’s another ripe, incredibly sexy red that has loads of blackberry and currant fruits, notes of toasty oak and barbecue smoke, full body, sweet, sweet tannins, and a layered, opulent, sexy texture that keeps you coming back to the glass. It could come from nowhere else and is a rocking wine to drink over the coming 15-20 years, if not longer. These wines are made by Russell Bevan.
