Tasting notes
Very dark crimson. A bit modern and formulaic on the nose. Sweet and currant and perfectly impressive but without tantalising undercurrents. A bit dry on the end. (JR)

A brilliant effort for the vintage, this muscular, dense purple-colored, powerful, rich 2008 offers notes of graphite, truffles, black cherries and blackberries along with moderately high tannins, full-bodied richness, impressive purity and a multidimensional mouthfeel. Give it 2-3 years of cellaring and enjoy it over the next two decades. It should prove to be one of the longer lived wines of the vintage.
Mid crimson. A very slight note of rawness on the nose? Enormous colour and ambition and on the palate it's glorious – smooth as satin and with lovely balance and energy. One of the more transparent JP Moueix wines. (JR)
