Tasting notes
60% Pinot Noir from Aÿ, Ambonnay, Bouzy and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ; 30% Chardonnay from Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Chouilly; 10% Pinot Meunier from Pierry and Montigny-sous-Châtillon. Disgorged 2013, TA 5.2 g/l (expressed as sulphuric), pH 3. Last batch of disgorgement needed some protection so SO2 was increased on the 2nd batch. Pale gold but deeper than the 2002. Intense and complex aromas of honey, brioche and baked apples/peaches. Again a hint of ginger and baking spice. That cedary note that I found on the nose in the 2002 is here on the palate, very delicately. Rich and honeyed. Deep and quite broad but the acidity brings harmony to that richness. Open and generous. (JH)

Not that dry but very dense with marked Pinot perfume. Still very tight knit – almost neurotic! (JR)
Complete. Broad. A touch of flatness? Quite rich and dense. Well kept together. (JR)
