Mid crimson. Full, round, even perhaps a little too sweet for some tastes? The sweetness of the Merlot is coming to the fore. Tannins in retreat. Hearty and robust. (JR)

Vieilles Vignes cited on the back label. From Les Eglisottes on the right bank and, I'm told, the creation of an Irish priest. Very concentrated but well balanced. Extremely satisfying with tannins well in retreat and no very obvious oak. Lovely combination of richness on palate entry and freshness on exit. Sweet Merlot dominates but there is some structure too. Underpriced. But I would not hold on to it for too long. (JR)
