Barrel sample. Lightish cherry red. Below the cemetery. Great drainage, light soil, tiny pebbles. Scented and floral and a touch peppery. Both pretty and beautiful – they are different though they may coincide. Then this darker, more tannic savoury character on the palate from the stems and real tannic finesse and length. Taut on the palate after the nose but long and bone dry, almost chalky finish. Long. (JH)
