Tasting notes
The 2005 Rouget is laced with the essence of sweet red berry fruit, mocha, dried flowers, mint and worn-in leather. Bright and floral, with savory accents from the Cabernet Franc, Rouget is a super-attractive Pomerol to drink now and over the next decade.

The 2005 is a delicious, complex, outstanding wine from this estate, which has been doing some great work of late. Loads of licorice, truffle, blackcurrant and black cherry fruit are present in this opulent, full-bodied Pomerol. It also has a beautiful texture and purity as well as a long finish. Just approaching full maturity, it has another 10-15 years of further longevity.
Scented, lilies on the nose. Very rich and vibrant. Glossy and flattering and very opulent though with lots of ripe tannin too. Quite youthful and long. (JR)
