The 1982 d'Angludet is a vintage that I have not tasted before. Showing less evolution in hue than expected, it has a slightly ferrous nose that's a little rustic in style yet retains admirable vigor. The palate has a melted quality, fleshy and quite deep, with plenty of truffle-infused black fruit tones. It gently builds toward a plummy finish. This is not complex yet very satisfying. It will not improve with bottle age, but well-kept bottles should be sought out. Tasted at the château.

Fragrantly scented. Definitely Margaux. Drank beautifully with sweet green pea ravioli prepared by Josiah Citron at Melisse. (JR)

This wine was drinkable when released and has managed to hang on to much of its fruit. It is not going to improve, and is best consumed over the next several years. Round and supple, with light amber at the edge, this loosely built wine exhibits some of the ripeness of the vintage, slightly above average depth, and easy-going, simple flavors and finish. Never impressive (the 1983 is significantly better), the 1982 d'Angludet is a wine to drink up . Tasted 4 times after bottling with inconsistent tasting notes.
