Tasting notes
The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru is more backward on the nose compared to its peers. Darker fruit, hints of black tea and clove surface with aeration, but it remains tight. The palate is more open, with notes of fleshy red fruit, black pepper and bay leaf, a powdery texture and a style that leans toward Morey. Quite persistent in the mouth, this is a Chambolle for those with cool, dank cellars. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Lovely forest-berry and black-cherry nose that is already quite open. Interesting tough of clove. Excellent structure, the tannins interlocking very nicely with the medium to full body and the generous fruit. Rather a bold finish for this appellation, but in a very positive way. A blend of four 1er Crus. Drink or hold.
