On the nose, the 2023 Chardonnay George Menini Estate features alluring aromas of golden apples, honeycomb, cashews and jasmine. The medium-bodied palate balances a satiny texture and concentrated, honeyed flavors with a crescendo of fresh acidity, and it has a long, energetic finish. It will benefit from a few years in the cellar. 750 cases were made.

The 2023 Chardonnay George Menini Estate is laced with white pear, jasmine, mint and white pepper, all of which add aromatic brightness. This cold, late-ripening site in the Sebastopol Hills yields Chardonnays of tension and minerality, qualities that are very much on display here.

Paul Hobbs is one of California wine’s biggest names. Twice named Wine Personality of the Year by Robert Parker, he joined Robert Mondavi in 1977, worked at Opus One and Simi before setting up his eponymous winery in 1991.
