Score 90/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2005

(Drouhin doesn't own these vines but does the vineyard work and the harvest) Aromas of pineapple, almond pastry and licorice. Concentrated, supple and sweet, with pineapple and mineral flavors. Firmly built and more vibrant than the 2003 Chablis bottlings. Finishes firm and distinctly dry.

Tasted from a barrel sample, the toasted almond-scented 2003 Meursault Perrieres (white) is broad, ample, and light to medium-bodied. Its oak-laced mineral flavors lead to a somewhat clipped finish. Anticipated maturity: now-2010. Importer: Dreyfus Ashby, New York, NY; tel. (212) 818-0770
