Tasting notes
The 2002 Chardonnay Three Sisters Vineyard, which was closed last year, is displaying fabulous notes of honeysuckle, orange blossom, citrus oil, and hints of brioche and white currant. Full-bodied with terrific acidity and a layered, concentrated finish, this is spectacularly compelling Chardonnay to drink over the next 7-8 years. Tel. (707) 258-3608; Fax (707) 942-5633

Knockout nose combines lemon, quince, hazelnut and a musky, leesy element; still slightly reduced. Wonderfully fresh, chewy and intense; seamless and light on its feet. Conveys a dusty impression of extract-as well as an impression of lower alcohol than the 2001. Finishes very long and suave. These wines were never racked, which is one reason why they need plenty of aeration prior to being served.
