Tasting notes
The 2019 Syrah Eddie's Patch is scented of blackcurrant and blueberry with nuances of prosciutto, licorice, peppermint patty and violet. The full-bodied palate features bright acidity and fresh, crunchy fruit. It's structured by powdery tannins and has an understated, spicy finish.

I always love the Syrah from this team, and their 2019 Syrah Eddie's Patch doesn't disappoint, revealing a dense purple hue to go with Saint-Joseph-like bright blue fruits, crushed stone, bouquet garni, and bacon fat notes. It's rich, medium to full-bodied, and beautifully balanced, with enough tannins to warrant 2-3 years of bottle age. It will have 10-15 years of overall longevity.
The 2019 Syrah Eddies Patch shows the more savory, pungent site of Russian River Syrah. Blue/purplish fruit, sage, black pepper, licorice and menthol are front and center. The tannins are a bit prominent at this stage, so a few years in the cellar is probably a good idea.
