Tasting notes
Deep violet color. A highly perfumed bouquet displays aromas of dark fruit liqueur, potpourri, smoked meat and baking spices. Offers palate-coating blackberry, kirsch, olive paste and candied violet flavors that are sharpened by a smoky mineral flourish that adds vibrancy and lift. Slowly turns sweeter with air and finishes very long and spicy, with repeating minerality and subtle tannic grip.

The 2019 Cote Rotie les Rochins ratchets up the intensity from the Colline de Couzou, still retaining a touch of florals on the nose but adding darker fruit notes, like purple raspberries and blueberries. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and deep, it's still relatively approachable now yet should have the ability to age through 2035.
Powerful, spice- and mineral-accented cherry and blackberry scents, along with suggestions of smoked meat, incense, licorice and exotic flowers. Impressively concentrated as well energetic on the palate, offering intense black/blue fruit, floral pastille and allspice flavors that show fine definition and become sweeter with air. Closes extremely long, chewy and sweet, showing bright, spicy cut on the youthfully tannic, floral-driven finish.
