The 2020 Brown has a flamboyant nose with quite plush red fruit mixed with espresso and brown spice notes, just conveying a bit too much of the winemaking. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, fine acidity, but there is some hardness on the finish that cuts away too swiftly compared to its peers.

Excactly what you want from a Pessac-Léognan - silky tannins, dark fruits, slate and cocoa bean edges. This is a lovely, no need to wait too long, there is oak influence here but it will soften. Enjoyable austerity with a mouthwatering signoff. 40% new oak.
The 2020 Château Brown was picked from September 15 to October 1, cropped at 35hl/ha and matured in one-third new oak. It offers dark berry fruit on the nose mixed with espresso and light tobacco scents, perhaps lacking a little focus. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. The oak needs to be more in sync with the fruit and there is just a patina of dryness toward the finish. I would aver that the previous two vintages have the upper hand.
The 2020 Château Brown shows nicely, with a rich, medium to full-bodied, nicely textured style as well as impressive purity in its darker fruits and notes of spice, tobacco, and earth. It has the fruit and texture to drink nicely in its youth yet also evolve for 10-15 years.
