The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is a gorgeous wine for drinking now and over the next decade or more. Savory and floral, with tons of character, the 2015 is a total rockstar. Lavender, spice, grilled herbs, tobacco and incense meld together in the glass, all framed by soft tannins that wrap around a core of blue/purplish fruit. This is a pretty opulent vintage for the Napa Valley Cabernet. Vineyard sources are Caldwell in Coombsville and the Howell Mountain estate. Superb.

Savory aromas of mulberries, cassia bark, graphite and leather. The palate is full-bodied with silky smooth tannins and balanced acidity, giving notes of blackcurrants, dried herbs and mocha. Wonderfully integrated and soft, with a serious undertone
Largely Howell Mountain-derived this vintage, Dunn's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, with 22% of the volume coming from Coombsville. It has only 13.7% alcohol, yet it comes across as rather forward (for Dunn), with slightly liquorous notions of crème de cassis on the nose and a deceptively supple, silky finish. I wouldn't dare call a Dunn wine plush, but this comes close. (JC)
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon (Howell Mountain) offers a striking balance of intense richness from the low yields on the mountain and the intensely mineral/savory qualities that are such signatures of the Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet. Graphite, smoke, grilled herbs, crème de cassis, menthol and iron build into the huge finish. The tannins are there, but they are buried by the sheer intensity of the fruit.
