The 2012 Pinot Noir Aidan Wildrose Vineyardis is one of the more delicate wines in the range, and also one of the most accessible of the Pinot Noirs. In 2012, winemaker Andy Smith destemmed all of the fruit and perhaps for that reason the Aidan comes across as a bit simple, relative to the other wines in the range, of course. Most of the appeal is upfront in a juicy, fruit-driven Pinot to drink over the next handful of years.

The 2012 Pinot Noir Aidan (445 cases) emerges from Dijon clones 115 and 777 planted in the cool Wild Rose Vineyard in the Russian River. This beauty reveals notes of strawberry jam, plums, blackcurrants, cherries, resiny pine forest, unsmoked cigar tobacco and a hint of cloves. Fresh, full-bodied and complex, it should drink well for a decade.
The 2012 Pinot Noir Aidan Wildrose Vineyard is beautifully polished, silky and refined throughout. Rose petals, sweet red berries and spices grace the palate in a gorgeous, supple Pinot that offers outstanding near and medium-term appeal. Supple and gracious, the 2012 is all about balance.
