Tasting notes
Deep garnet in color, the 2007 Amon-Ra is a little flat on the nose with dusty earth, kirsch and leather notes fused with dried berries, sandalwood and spice box. Full-bodied and richly fruited in the mouth, it has very crisp acid and tannins that are a little chewy through the long and spicy finish. Drink it now until 2018+. Glass-staining ruby. Exotically perfumed bouquet displays scents of raspberry, cherry-vanilla, sassafras, Asian spices and sandalwood. Juicy, mineral-laced red and dark berry flavors gain power and structure with air, picking up notes of anise, allspice and clove. The spiciness extends through a very long, sappy and gently sweet finish. Built to age but offers a lot of complexity right now.
