The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon jumps from the glass with dark red plum, raspberry, spice and new leather. This succulent, mid-weight wine is an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next few years. The racy, exuberant finish and plump fruit are among the signatures of the year, and they are both very much present in this fine Cabernet.
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon with the Paul Hobbs moniker is pretty serious wine that could easily win many a tasting. Dense purple in color, with notes of blackcurrants, blackberry, charcoal and incense, the wine is full-bodied, opulent and a big-time winner. This is a stunner that’s drinking well already and yet promises to age well for 15-20 years.

Paul Hobbs is one of California wine’s biggest names. Twice named Wine Personality of the Year by Robert Parker, he joined Robert Mondavi in 1977, worked at Opus One and Simi before setting up his eponymous winery in 1991.
